Update: 39-year-old man dies after being shot in Racine

UPDATE: RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are identifying a 39-year-old man who died after he was shot in the head early Sunday morning. 

It happened near De Koven Avenue and Mead Street in Racine around 3:00 a.m. Sunday. 

Vontrell Turner was taken to the hospital but later died. 

Anyone with information is asked to call Racine Police or Crime Stoppers.

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 39-year-old man was taken by Flight for Life to a local hospital after being shot in the head.

Racine Police were called to the 1900 block of Mead around 3 a.m. Sunday for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a shooting victim. He was taken to a local hospital and later transported by Flight for Life.

His injury is believed to be life-threatening, police say.

No suspects are currently in custody. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
