Five teens arrested in connection with morning robberies

The Milwaukee Police Department arrested multiple teenagers who may have been involved in a string of armed robberies across the city. Police say the band of robbers spent early New Year's Eve driving around and robbing people at gunpoint.

Police received reports of robberies at the following locations:

  • 5800 block of North Ave. at 8:20 a.m.
  • 6700 block of W. Center St. at 8:20 a.m.
  • 1100 block of W. Wisconsin Ave. at 8:45 a.m.
  • 300 block of E. Capitol Dr. at 9:10 a.m.

Police say vehicles with multiple occupants were seen pulling up near their victims and demand valuables. Officers spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one reported by victims. When police tried to pull the vehicle over, the suspects sped away from officers. The short chase ended when the vehicle stopped on the 8700 block of Herbert Ave. Five teenagers left the car, and fled from police on foot.

All five robbery suspects were eventually arrested by police. Police say all five suspects were under the age of 16.
