Finally, relief from the cold next week

After a cold start to this season with temperatures five degrees below average last month, the area should warm up with more sun coming in the forecast. The next five days could give us sunny skies, lack of precipitation, and quiet conditions.

With high pressure moving in, the upper-level pattern changing in our favor, this will not only steer storms away, but the warm air could reach levels nearing 40 by early next week. Until then, it will be chilly with highs in the 20s today and 30s for the weekend.

The warmest of the days will be on Tuesday and Wednesday with low 40s likely. After those 40s pop in, changes move in with our next round of precipitation.
