Feb. 28 marks important deadline for new taxi permits in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Friday is the deadline for prospective new cab drivers in Milwaukee to submit an application to the City Clerk.
Drivers have until 4:30 p.m. to submit their names into a lottery drawing for 100 new licenses, made available for the first time in more than two decades.
The City Clerk's Office says more than 900 people have declared their intent to apply for a new taxi license.
The lottery drawing is March 17 at City Hall, and will determine which applicants will continue in the licensing process.
