Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Joey
Terry Williams autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday. His family and friends gathered at Bradford Beach to honor him.
Terry Williams family says that they are heartbroken after everything that's happened.
They came together to bring justice for Terry.
"I'd be out here every day to get justice if that's what we got to do. Something has got to give, he can't keep doing this. It's not right," said Michael Waits, cousin of Terry Williams.
Dozens of people marched on Lincoln Memorial Drive near where Williams was shot by a Milwaukee County Deputy on Saturday.
The Sheriff's Office says a deputy was trying to stop him for a traffic violation but Williams didn't stop his SUV.
That's when Sheriff Clarke says Deputy Michael Truax used deadly force and shot Terry. He died at the hospital the next day.
The Williams family was not alone as they marched. Members of Dontre Hamilton's and Sylville Smith's family showed up to support.
“Another family being victimized by police brutality and they need love and support. They need someone who is going through their pain. It’s been a year and we’ve been going through the same thing,” said Thaddeus Ashfard, cousin of Sylville Smith.
Paula, the passenger also shot during the incident, was at the march. CBS 58 was told that she's doing okay.
The family plans to have a private vigil for Terry.
