Eric Thames placed on DL with thumb injury

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Eric Thames has been placed on the 10-day disabled list.

Thames has a tear of the UCL in his left thumb.

Thames has had a stellar April with 7 home runs and a season average of .250.

According to Adam McCalvy, Jesus Aguilar who has been heating up is the leading candidate to play first base with Ryan Braun also filling in.

In their corresponding roster move, the Brewers have recalled pitcher Brandon Woodruff from Triple-A Sky Sox.
