Florence & The Machine singer injures vocal chords

CNN -- Florence and The Machine has canceled two upcoming concerts in Europe because the lead singer has a vocal injury.

Florence Welch tweeted to fans Wednesday that she's lost her voice.

The British band was due to play at the Benicassim festival in Spain and the Optimus Alive festival in Portugal this weekend.

Welch tweeted she felt something snap in her vocal chords and has been ordered not to sing for a week.

She promised to make it up to fans.
