Elmbrook Humane Society Wagfest coming September 9

Community members throughout southeast Wisconsin will join their furry friends for the 10th annual Wagfest, an event that helps raise money for Elmbrook Humane Society.

The event, taking place Saturday, September 9 at Mitchell Park in Brookfield, offers an opportunity for animals and their people to come together as a community to celebrate the bond between them. You don't need to have a dog to attend.

The day-long festival includes food, music, shopping, several different raffles and of course, activities for dogs. Raffle prizes include (but are not limited to) Harley-Davidson items, animal-themed gift baskets, the popular wheelbarrow of booze filled with premium liquor and wines, and the tower of craft beer. And, do not forget the 50/50 raffle with drawings held every two hours.

This year, Wagfest will feature an expanded Puptini Lounge and the addition of a doggie limbo. Additionally, Wagfest will feature lure courses, an agility demonstration and practice arena, Zoomie Zone, Pawcasso Studio, photo booth, and Doggy Dining Dash. Attendees may shop from one of the anticipated 60 vendors, while eating and indulging in one of many cold beverage options. A variety of food options will be onsite, including the EBHS Shelter Grille and Cantina, Noodles & Co., Sherwood’s Fabulous Fudge, Texas Roadhouse, and Topper’s Pizza.

“There is truly something for everyone at Wagfest,” said Heather Gehrke, Executive Director of EBHS. “With the event having free admission, there is no reason not to mark your calendar to spend all or part of the day with us. We expect more than 5,000 people and dogs this year, which would break our all-time record. We look forward to celebrating our 10th Wagfest with you!”

EBHS will provide a free shuttle to and from parking lots for people and their animals, courtesy of Steny’s Tavern and Grill. All proceeds will benefit the animals at EBHS, which is the only No Kill shelter in Waukesha County.

Wagfest will take place September 9th from 11 AM to 5 PM at Mitchell Park is located at 19900 River Road in Brookfield, near the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts. For more information, visit http://www.ebhs.org/wagfest.
