Elm Grove Business Hoping to Bring in the Green With Small Business Saturday

To keep the momentum going for Small Business Saturday a collection of shops in Elm Grove hosted a special shopping event this past Saturday with free samples, deep discounts and impromptu entertainment and holiday cheer.

They hope it will encourage more people to travel around the corner instead of always going to the malls for a gift.

The anchor store for the event is "Mystic Ireland" at 13425 Watertown Plank Rd, Elm Grove, WI

Fazio's, the family run candy shop, also takes part in a big way with treats to try before you buy.

Folks were dressed in festive attire, some even in costume.

The owner of Mystic Ireland, Clodagh McGuinness, uses the occasion to show personal appreciation to longtime customers while hoping to make new friends who will come back for Celtic inspired gifts.

"We have Irish, Scottish, English items. But it's really meant for everyone. The Celtic jewelry is beautiful! Many customers aren't even Irish or Scottish and purchase it."

For the owner of Fazio's, Cinday Fazio, consumers can make a real statement on what they expect for their hard earned cash by supporting family owned businesses that go the extra mile.

"Businesses that are local, if you're successful, we're successful," explained Fazio to CBS 58 News. "It builds the community and just a great way to shop. Very special items, and very handmade."
