Elderly Woman Suspected of Stabbing Her Son

An 88-year-old Milwaukee woman is suspected of stabbing her 68-year-old son Wednesday evening.  The Milwaukee Police are investigating the incident that occurred around 7:10 PM in their residence in the area of W Kinnickinnic River Parkway and W Manitoba Street.  According to the Police, the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is described as a serious injury, but he is expected to survive.

Milwaukee Police confirms the woman was arrested on scene Wednesday night. She is in custody awaiting charges.

Neighbors say the woman and son both lived in the home many years.

"When I saw them pull out the first person I thought maybe I should just go and find out what's going for my peace of mind because I have my grandchildren, and I did. And [police] told me that the mom had stabbed the son," said Mary Rodriguez.

"Everybody here is really nice. that's why it kind of shocked me," said Rodriguez.

Rodriguez lives a few homes down from the 88-year-old woman and her 68-year-old son. She says she has heard the mother and son have had altercations at the home before. Milwaukee Police say they came to the home on W Kinnickinnic River Parkway in April 2015 for a welfare check.
