Early morning fire damages Kenosha City building

A city maintenance building in Kenosha received moderate to extensive damage due to an early morning fire today.   According to the Kenosha Fire Department, the fire was reported around 1:20 AM in a City Street Department building at 35th Avenue and 65th Street.  The cause of the fire is under investigation but officials believe it may be electrical in nature.   The fire was found in the roof of the building, and according to the KFD, the steel roof hamper firefighting efforts.   Firefighters were on scene for about three hours.   The building received fire, smoke, heat and water damage, but the dollar amount of damage has not been determined.    The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
