Driver seriously injured after rear-ending school bus

MENOMINEE COUNTY (WFRV) - The Menominee County Sheriff's Department reports that at 7:36 AM on Tuesday, a Menominee Indian School District school bus was rear-ended by a car.

The bus was stopped and had its lights flashing when the crash happened.

Deputies responded to the scene with help from Menominee Tribal Police, Tribal Conservation, Keshena and South Branch Fire Department and Menominee Tribal Rescue Service.

After medical personnel looking over the children, it was determined no students were injured.

All of the students were transferred to a secondary bus and were taken to designated schools.

The driver of the car that crashed into the bus sustained significant injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital by Thedastar.

It was not stated whether the crash was under investigation.

Names are withheld pending notification of family.
