Dozens protest outside of Speaker Paul Ryan's Racine office

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Immigrants and supporters took to the streets today...Rallying outside of speaker Paul Ryan's Racine office.

They are urging him to pass a "Clean" DREAM Act.

"We aren't going to negotiate parents, funds for the wall. This is not acceptable," says a protester.

"We want a clean dream act, which means no bargaining chips. We want TPS to be restored so that everyone has a opportunity to have a clean pathway to citizenship," says Jenniffer Valladares of Youth Empowered in the Struggle.

Immigrants and supporters say ryan has the influence to make a difference, but has done nothing.

People from Illinois and Michigan stood in solidarity, as members of Voces De La Frontera dropped off a letter urging the speaker to act now.

"Speaker Paul Ryan in his leadership role can take leadership and can push for a clean DREAM Act. That's what we believe has to be put into the spending bill and needs to be moved. Not as a stand alone bill," says Christine Neumann-Ortiz of Voces De La Frontera.

If something isn't done by March, hundreds of thousands of dreamers will lose their status and become vulnerable to deportation..

"I'm a DACA recipient, but we have been placed in a position where we've been put with an expiration date over our heads. No human being deserves that," says a protester.

They say after numerous attempts to meet with Ryan, they hope the rally makes a difference.

"He can't hold a real town hall with people in his community on issues that matter. It's disgraceful and we're going to keep coming back until he actually meets with people," says Neumann-Ortiz.

CBS 58 reached out to Speaker Ryan's office for comment, and have not heard back.
