Doctors treating more people with frostbite

These artic temperatures are sending more people to the emergency room suffering from frostbite.

\"You know you have frost bite if your skin feels numb, waxy and painful,\" said Director of the burn unit, Dr. Nicholas Meyer.

He said over the last few days, they have treated more people with frostbites, and the busiest time for them is the evenings.

\"I think it's because of intoxication. Intoxication puts people at risk because they don't notice the cold as well,\" said Dr. Meyer.

He also tells CBS 58 the majority of their patients range from age 30 to 49, saying most of those patients work outside.

CBS 58's Lila Carrera has more on what doctors are doing to treat patients and the health dangers frostbite can lead to.
