Dane County man arrested for 6th OWI after allegedly making death threats to several people, driving away

DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Dane County man has been arrested and is facing several charges including 6th OWI and Disorderly Conduct.

Dane County Deputies were called to the 7300 block of E. Cates Road for a report of a man making death threats towards several people.

That man was identified as Gerald Erpelding, 58, from Montrose.

Erpelding allegedly fled the scene of the disturbance on an ATV before attempting to leave the area in a pickup truck a short while later.

Deputies located a vehicle matching the description, driven by Erpelding, and initiated a traffic stop on E Cates Rd and County Road A.

Erpelding was subsequently arrested and booked into the Dane County Jail without further incident.
