Criminal charges expected to be filed against Zelich in Kenosha County

KENOSHA -- Former West Allis Police Officer Steven Zelich is expected to be charged in Kenosha County on August 5th. The Kenosha County District Attorney has yet to say what criminal charges Zelich will face in his county.

According to court documents, Zelich admitted to killing 19-year-old Jenny Gamez and 37-year-old Laura Simonson. No murder charges have been filed against Zelich.

Walworth County Jail says Zelich was transported to Kenosha County during the morning hours of August 4. He is expected to be sent back to jail in Walworth County following his court appearance in Kenosha County.

Zelich pleaded not guilty to two counts of hiding a corpse after the bodies of both women were found stuffed inside a suitcase left on the side of a Walworth County highway.
