Cosmetology School Closes 79 Locations Including One in Greenfield

Regency Beauty Institute closed 79 campuses in the U.S. including its Greenfield location on Wednesday.

The company’s website said the company was closing after 50 years in cosmetology education.

“This is incredibly difficult news for everyone affected: especially our students, teachers, and staff. We recognize that some of you may be finding this out for the first time by reading this. We are truly sorry for the abrupt nature of this information,” posted the company on its website. “This is not another case of a school being forced to shut down because it was accused of wrongdoing. We held ourselves to high educational and ethical standards. The environment is simply not one that allows us to remain open. We diligently explored a range of strategic options that would benefit our students, teachers, and staff — and allow us to remain open. Unfortunately, those efforts were not successful.”

According to the website, Regency Beauty Institute ran out of cash to run the business.

Students can pick up their personal items on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The schools will not be open at any other time.

Every student will receive a transcript in the mail.

The school posted they are working with other schools to try to help students complete their program.
