Cops: Suspect Admitted Duct-Taping Slain Disabled Teen While on K2

(CBS NEWS) EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Police have charged a man who lived next door to the home where the body of a missing disabled teen was found last month.

Terrance Roach, 24,  is charged with murder, burglary, kidnapping and abuse of a corpse in the death of 19-year-old Aleah Beckerle. Beckerle used a wheelchair and was dependant on others for food, bathing and care. According to the arrest affidavit for Roach, Beckerle was reported missing July 17, 2016 by her mother, Cara Beckerle, and her “badly decomposed,” body was discovered March 27.

The affidavit states that Roach lived next door to the home where Aleah’s body was found. According to the Evansville Courier-Press. Roach is the half-brother of Aleah’s younger sister. 

Police brought Roach in for questioning and according to the affidavit he admitted to smoking “Katie,” which they define as K2 or synthetic marijuana, kidnapping Aleah, duct-taping her inside the vacant home, and having sex with her corpse after she died.

Roach allegedly told police that after smoking the synthetic marijuana the idea of taking Aleah just “popped in his head.” He allegedly said that he broke into Aleah’s bedroom window so that he “wouldn’t wake up his other sisters,” carried her out the window, put her in his truck, and took her to the vacant home.

Roach appeared in court on Wednesday and a judge entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. He is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 17.
