Community Call to Action brings law enforcement and community together

The turnout for the fifth annual Community Call to Action on Roosevelt Drive on Milwaukee's west side was all made possible by Latoya Adkins.
All sorts of vendors, food and music were at the Community Call to Action event.
The adults enjoyed the nice day and the children were playing in the sun.
\"Because of how close I was to my cousin, how much my cousin meant to me, this event also means a lot to me. Because I have the event in her memory. So it's just really emotional just to be recognized to have people tell me that I should continue doing this,\" said Latoya Adkins.
Adkins told CBS 58, her goal is to create healthy relationships about the way crime is addressed in Milwaukee.  In addition, Adkins wanted to improve the relationship between the community and law enforcement.
\"They help connect individuals to resources. But you just bring in the community for a positive cause after having something so tragic happen. So that's why I think it's important to have these types of events,\" Adkins said.
