Clipper system could bring light snow to the area

It has been all about the cold the last week or so! 10 straight days of temperatures below 32 degrees, and there appears to be no end in sight! A Wind Chill Advisory remains in play until noon today.

The arctic air will retreat just a bit the next 24-48 hours around a clipper system. The clipper won’t bring a lot of snow; however, it could bring a quick dusting to ½” in some spots. As it heads southeast into our area, the dynamics dissolve a bit and the snow will become more isolated.

Another batch of arctic air rolls in by week’s end. The cold means highs only in the single digits and overnight lows could plunge below zero again. With winds developing, wind chill factors fall into the -10 to -20 degree territory, which means a Wind Chill Advisory might need to be posted.
