CBS Travel Expert: Good year for international travel, airfares may fall

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- If you've ever wanted to travel to another country, this might be a good year to do it.

CBS News Travel Expert Peter Greenberg tells CBS 58 that airfares this year are expected to hold steady or even go down. One reason is that fewer people are coming to visit the United States.

Greenberg also says if you're looking for foreign travel, don't just limit yourself to online searches.

"Only 52% of the inventory is available online. Travel providers hold back. That means when you're sitting in your bathrobe at two in the morning hitting all those keystrokes and being happy that you found something, you're automatically disenfranchising yourself from up to 48% of what's out there. Go back to the future, pick up the phone, and have a conversation with a human being," said CBS News Travel Expert Peter Greenberg.
