Carthage College helping students displaced by Hurricane Maria

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) – Carthage College is offering to help students displaced by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

It’s allowing them to apply for temporary admission to continue their studies while their homeland rebuilds from the massive storm.

Students evacuated to the Midwest would pay the normal rate to their home institutions. Only room and board will be charged if a student chooses to live in campus housing.

“The courses that these students are taking would be able to transfer back to their home institution and still fit with their graduation timeline,” said Ashley Hanson, Carthage College Associate Vice President of Admissions.

No one has taken advantage of the admission offer yet. Applications will be accepted until the beginning of the spring term on February 7.
