Cargill lays off 600 employees in plant closure

MILWAUKEE -- Cargill's Harvest and Fabrication Operations Plant located in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley is closing. This shut down affect 600 Cargill employees.


The company says the closure is due to the shortage of beef caused by droughts. The Harvest and Fabrication Operations Plant will close by August 1, 2014.


We have confirmed employees losing their jobs will get paid for 60 days of work.


Cargill will hold a job fair to see if any other positions withing the company can be filled by the laid off employees.
