Reports on consumer credit and trade, along with Fed meeting
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Analysts say the chances are good that the Federal Reserve will feel compelled to do something this week to address the weak job market.
The Fed has a two-day meeting on interest rates. In the wake of Friday's disappointing report, analysts note that Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has stated that the job market is a "grave concern". What exactly the Fed might do and when remains a question mark. On today's calendar, the Fed releases consumer credit data. And later in the week, figures on retail and wholesale inflation are due, along with retail sales and industrial production. |
