Brian Matusz Suspended After Being Ejected for Foreign Substance on Arm

(CNN)- Baltimore Orioles reliever Brian Matusz learned nothing from Will Smith. Only a few days after the Milwaukee Brewers lefty got the boot for having a foreign substance on his right arm, umpires ejected Matusz on Saturday night after they discovered an illegal substance on his arm, per NBC Sports' Bill Baer. The MLB announced Monday Matusz has been suspended eight games, though he will appeal.

The ejection came with the Orioles in a 0-0 tie with the Miami Marlins in the bottom of the 12th inning. According to Fox Sports' Joe Davis, Marlins manager Dan Jennings asked that the umpire crew inspect Matusz's arm. The veteran left-hander made it 0.2 innings before the ejection.
