NEW YORK - The Brewers hope they've struck gold with hard-throwing lefthander Kodi Medeiros, the team's first round selection in the MLB first-year player draft Thursday.
Medeiros, who turned 18 a few weeks before the draft, reminds scouts of White Sox ace pitcher Chris Sale. He throws a fastball as hard as 94 miles per hour. Medeiros was 7-1 with an 0.97 ERA as a high school senior in Hawaii, striking out 83 batters in 43.1 innings pitched.
The Brewers also have the 41st and 50th selections Thursday night. \"Times New Roman\";mso-ansi-language:EN-US;mso-fareast-language:EN-US;
