Badgers off to best start in 100 years after beating Iowa

MADISON - It's been a century since a Badgers basketball team started a season 15-0, but this year's Wisconsin team equalled that mark with Sunday's 75-71 win over 22nd ranked Iowa at Kohl Center.

Ben Brust scored 19 points and helped key a 14-2 second half run that saw the Badgers retake the lead. With less than 2:30 to play, Iowa had closed it to just a one point game, but Sam Dekker scored 6 points in the final minutes to help Wisconsin walk away with the win.

Josh Gasser added 14 points for the Badgers (15-0, 2-0 Big Ten).

The last Badgers team to start a season with 15 straight wins was in 1913-14. The 1911-12 team also pulled off the same feat. With one more win, Wisconsin can set the school's all-time record for best start to a season.

The Badgers host Illinois Wednesday night at 8:00.
