Badgers drop Senior Day decision in bizarre fashion

Senior Day began with emotion at Camp Randall Stadium, and ended with a bizarre finish and disappointment for the Badgers.

Jazz Peavy's last-second game-tying touchdown catch was overruled on replay, with officials saying Peavy did not maintain possession, and the Badgers couldn't reach the end zone again in a 13-7 loss to Northwestern in Madison Saturday.

Stave appeared to hit Peavy for a touchdown with :24 to play, but officials said on replay that Peavy lost possession as he landed and rolled out of bounds. Stave left a short time later with an injury, and Bart Houston entered the game, only to miss Tanner McEvoy on fourth down to snuff out Wisconsin's final drive.

With the loss and Iowa's 40-20 against Purdue, the Badgers will not be representing the division in the Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis.
