Another Round of Strong Storms Possible Monday Afternoon/Evening

Our first round of strong thunderstorms has exited the area. These storms were producing wind gusts just west of our area upwards of 70 mph with downed power lines and trees. As these storms approached our area they weakened slightly and as a result all thunderstorm warnings this morning have been canceled. A severe thunderstorm watch still remains until 3 PM this afternoon.

Now we wait and see. If the atmosphere can recharge enough we may see additional strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. The timing for these storms is generally from 5 PM until 9 PM. Large damaging hail, very strong wind gusts and tornadoes will be possible with this activity. Heavy downpours and frequent lightning are also possible.
