A Warmer Month on the Way

March is just about over. If you're like me, you're probably saying "good riddance"!! And it's not that March was unusual as much as our February was so fabulous, typical March weather let us down. Right now March is running about a degree above normal and we are above normal on the month for both rain and snow. We saw 13.6" of snow (our snowiest month next to December) and we picked up 3.72" of total precip, from which about two and a half inches fell as rain. But things may be turning around in the weather department as we head through April. Check it out:

This data comes from the National Weather Service's "Climate Prediction Center" and it has us pegged for a 40% probability of above normal temperatures for the month. Not to mention April is one of the biggest transition months for warming temperatures as we head into the heart of our spring season. Look how much the average high and low temperatures rise through the month:

However, there is still a chance for snow and on average we get about 2" on the month. We have snow in the forecast too if you can believe it! But first, we enjoy a nicer weekend with sunshine finally returning to the area. Temps will top the upper 40s lakeside on Saturday and lower 50s on Sunday. Meanwhile, inland spots will rise to the mid 50s Saturday with 60 possible on Sunday. Enjoy the sun and dry weather while we have it, showers are back in the forecast for Sunday evening and for Monday.
