The cargo plane, Fat Albert will be making an appearance at the 2017 air show in Milwaukee. The plane carried logistical equipment for the Blue Angels form show to show across the country.
CBS 58 and Telemundo Wisconsin reporter Christine Flores took a ride on the plane during Friday’s test runs.
“There were no peanuts on this plane,” says Flores who describes the ride like a roller coaster ride.
After several years, the Blue Angels are back in Milwaukee and ready for this weekend’s performances.
Some of the headliners include U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Golden Knights, and Aerostars Formation Aerobatic Team.
One of Fat Albert’s pilots says the same skills and maneuvers you’ll see this weekend are the same ones that are used and taught on the fleet.
“What we did today is exactly the same thing these guys do in the fleet like in Iraq and Afghanistan,” says Blue Angels pilot, Mark Montgomery. “We do it a little lower and in front of a crowd but it’s the same thing we do, nothing much different than anyone else does in the fleet.”
Organizers say tickets are still available for reserved seats on Bradford Beach. The show will run from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. Saturday and Sunday.
