41-year-old Racine County man arrested for punching wife in face leading to standoff

NORWAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County Sheriff's Deputies were called to a house on Ashwood Lane in the town of Norway Wednesday evening just after 8 p.m. for a report of domestic abuse.

The woman said that her husband was drunk and punched her in the face possibly breaking her nose. The victim fled the house with her 10-year-old son and the husband barricaded himself in the house closing all the doors, windows and window treatments in the house.

Deputies tried to contact the suspect using a loud microphone and two phones in the house. After unsuccessful contact, deputies entered the house and arrested the man without incident.

A 41-year-old man has been charged with strangulation, aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and obstructing with domestic abuse.
