27-Year-Old Whitewater Man Dead after Crash

On Saturday July 2 at approximately 12:02 AM, Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Town of LaGrange Fire and Rescue Units were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Highway H near Bluff Road in the town of LaGrange.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a grey 2008 Nissan crashed against a large tree. The vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway H when it lost control striking the tree. The driver, who was the sole occupant, was trapped in the vehicle and deputies attempted life saving measures.

Fire and Rescue Units were able to extricate the driver, but he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office. He was identified as 27-year-old Robert Olson from Whitewater.

Witnesses told deputies that Olson had just left work in Eagle and was headed home. 

Speed is believed to be a contributing factor. The investigation of this crash remains open and ongoing.
