21-Year-Old Arrested for School Shooting Threat

A 21-year-old in Sheboygan allegedly made threats to planning a shooting at a school.

According to the criminal complaint, police received an anonymous tip on December 12 that Joshua Bagemehl was planning a school shooting.

Sheboygan Police Officers accessed the defendant’s Facebook page and found several posts about planning a school shooting.

These included: “so, I might be buying a AR15 with a laser red dot on it and s*** semi-auto too 22 caliber just waiting on the background check.”

The posts, also, included that it would be “funny as f*ck” if a school shooting happened.

On one of the posts about his AR15 someone replied, ““don’t let them take it away for real.”

The defendant allegedly replied, “I won’t. Ima live by the gun, die by the gun, Ima die holding a gun.”

At the defendant’s residence police found metallic rear sight aperture for an assault-style rifle; 299 rounds of .22 tactical ammunition; and a Mossberg International .22 caliber assault-style rifle as well as various electronic devices. Also seized were handwritten notes concerning homemade weapons; a plan for a “hostile takeover”; and various notes about committing non-specific crimes and not getting caught.

Last January, Joshua’s mother contacted police telling them he was schizophrenic and bipolar.

According to the criminal complaint, the defendant told police he was trying to get a reaction from his posts and that he purchased the assault rifle on Monday.

The Defendant stated examination of his electronic media and cell phones would reveal several types of Isis videos, including beheading, as well as drive-by shootings, and that he has been viewing these type of videos for the last five years and that these viewings “never get old.”
