MILWAUKEE -- With high temperatures moving into the area, a number of Milwaukee County departments have put their emergency heat plans into place.

The Milwaukee County Department on Aging is working with all of their partner agencies to make daily phone and in-home checks on vulnerable residents.

They are also asking people to check on their elderly friends, family and neighbors. "The Department on Aging works hard to make sure vulnerable people are safe in this heat, but we also are asking for the community's help. Please take five minutes to pick up the phone or knock on the door of an elderly neighbor to make sure they are OK," said Stephanie Sue Stein, Department on Aging Director.
