Water main break closes King Drive Library

MILWAUKEE -- An early morning water main break has left standing water inside of the Martin Luther King Library on 3rd and Locust, forcing staff to close the library for the day.

About an inch of standing water is in the staff area and employees have managed to clear most of it.

Officials were alerted of the break around 5:30 a.m.

Preliminary reports show no immediate damage to books or electronics, but workers are still assessing the damage.
