Sen. Kathleen Vinehout drops out of race for Governor

MADISON -- State Senator Kathleen Vinehout announced Friday morning that she will not seek the Democratic nomination for governor.

Vinehout was actively pursuing a run until breaking her arm in a weather-related car crash in December.

"The severity of the injury and the time required to recover make it impossible for me to run in the intense, grassroots campaign that I want to run and would be necessary to win," she said in a statement.

She also wished Mary Burke, the only democrat to add a name to the hat so far, good luck in the race.
