Therapy animals relieve Marquette students' stress
MILWAUKEE -- Finals can be a stressful time for college students, but those at Marquette University can take a break with some therapy animals.
Friday, Health Heelers will bring therapy dogs and cats for students to pet and get their minds off finals.
Laura Hey with Health Heelers says it only takes a few minutes for pets to induce stress-busting hormones in our bodies.
She and a dog named Coooper stopped by the CBS 58 Morning News Friday to talk to about the partnership with Marquette.
So did Chris Daood, from Marquette, who says the first day the therapy dogs were on campus, more than 200 students were lined up to have a moment with the animals.
Friday, the Health Heelers will be at the Alumni Memorial Union from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event is sponsored by the Marquette University Student Government and Marquette's Counseling Center.
