Position: Graphic/Motion Designer
Description: CBS-58 seeks an experienced, creative, graphic/motion designer with an outstanding eye for design, concept and layout. Primary responsibility will be creating 2d and 3d animations for both news and promotional purposes. Secondary responsibility includes creating logos and images for production, promotion and print advertising. Must be proficient on MAC and able to work well under pressure. Knowledge of Photoshop, After Effects, Cinema 4-D, illustrator a must. Experience in broadcasting/production a plus. Position: Assistant News Director
Description: CBS-58 News seeks an Assistant News Director ready to take a creative multi-platform driven approach to managing and leading the day to day operation of our newsroom.
Must bring a passion for advocacy and enterprise journalism, a desire to win breaking news and a clear understanding of how stories, technology and people come together.
Individual needs 3-5 years of professional journalism experience with at least 3 years in a progressive management capacity with experience managing in a multiplatform environment.
Candidate must have excellent news judgment and a clear understanding of journalistic ethics and laws that impact all of our platforms for delivering news to our viewers and users.

Position: Production Crew
Description: CBS-58 seeks a full-time Production Crewmember to join our production team. Individual will be responsible for floor directing, camera operation, and teleprompter for daily newscasts. The ideal candidate for this position should also be willing to learn or already have experience on Grass Valley Ignite system. Hours for this position are generally 2:30pm-11:00pm, mainly on weekends with varying weekday shifts generally totaling 40 hours weekly. Occasional morning shift work for fill-in purposes may be required. Must be able to work Holidays as well. Position: Photojournalist
Description: CBS-58 seeks a full-time Photojournalist to shoot and edit news and sports. A minimum of one-two years’ experience is necessary. In this position you will be required to run a live truck and/or execute live shots. Camera operation and non-linear editing experience preferred. Position: Morning Executive Producer
Description: CBS-58 seeks a Morning Executive Producer for News Content to be the leader/supervisor of the morning/noon on air newscasts , and on-line and digital news content. This position will be responsible for staff gathering and producing news content on all on air, digital and social media platforms including the rundown and approval of scripts, working with morning and noon reporters, multi-media journalists and photographers on assigned content and presentation. Individual will be responsible for providing staff feedback, reviewing work and conducting annual performance reviews. You will actively contribute to long and short term planning as it relates to the morning and noon newscasts and will work closely with other newsroom management on scheduling of producers and other news staff. Position requires excellent news judgment including an understanding of the importance of breaking news and severe weather coverage. Ideal candidate is an excellent team builder and problem solver with the ability to fill in as a line producer as needed. Must have good writing and copy editing skills and an understanding of branding, maintaining and growing the station brand including working with other departments to deliver the best possible messages about our morning and noon newscasts. Additionally you must understand and execute the best possible on-line and digital content as it relates the morning/noon news. This includes driving our social media content, managing post-newscast meetings and leading the follow up on the newscasts. A strong sense of innovation and a desire to win are essential. Minimum two years’ experience as an executive Producer with proven leadership in the newsroom. Bachelor’s degree in journalism or multi-media journalism preferred. Internships Fall 2013
We are pleased to offer students the opportunity to apply for our Internship Program at our station. Located in Milwaukee, we offer a variety of internship programs in several areas within broadcasting. Internships require a commitment of 15 hours per week for an entire semester during the regular school year. There is no pay associated with the internship and to qualify the student must be able to receive college credit for the experience.
