UW Women sign two Players

The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team has signed two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, Coach Lisa Stone announced today.
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin women’s basketball team has signed two student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, Coach Lisa Stone announced today. Jada Buggs, a 6-1 forward from Elkhart, Ind., and Morgan Paige, a 5-10 guard from Marion, Iowa, will join the Badgers in 2010.
Jada Buggs (6-1, forward)
Buggs was an honorable mention all-state selection in 2008-09 at Elkhart Memorial High School. She is a two-time all-sectional, all-regional and all-conference honoree. Buggs was also named the co-most valuable player of her team in 2009 for Coach Larry Fielstra. She also plays with the Indiana Elite AAU Team under Coach Andrew Woodrich.
In her junior season at Elkhart Memorial, Buggs averaged 15 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as the team compiled a 20-4 record and a sectional championship.
Morgan Paige (5-10, guard)
Paige is a three-time all-state honoree, earning first-team all-state honors in 2009. She was ranked as one of the Elite Top Five players in the state in 2009. Paige was named to the state 3A all-tournament team in 2009, aiding Marion High School to an appearance in the state semifinals. She is a three-year all-district, all-metro area and all-conference player. Her high school coach is her mother Sherryl Paige.
Paige holds the Marion High School scoring record after three years, tallying more than 1,000 points in her career. She is also the school record holder for free throws attempted and made. Paige is a three-time team most valuable player and two-time team captain. She also plays AAU basketball with Team Iowa under Coach Marvin Meier, winning the 2009 Iowa state 17-under title and being named to the all-tournament team.
Paige attended the same high school as Jason Bohannon, who is a senior guard on the Wisconsin men’s basketball team.
Paige is also a two-time all-state honoree in volleyball, aiding her team to the 3A state title in 2008. She holds her school record for assists in a season and career.
A 4.0 student, Paige is a four-year academic letter winner and a four-year member of the honor roll. She has served as the president of her class all four years.
