MILWAUKEE-A local family has waited two years for Monday's announcement  that murder charges have now been filed in the fatal shooting of a 24 year old witness.

 

39 year old Larry Howard has now been charged with the first degree intentional homicide of Maurice Pulley  who is pictured to the left.

 

Pulley was shot three times, fatally once in the head, in the driveway of his parents' home.

 

It happened back in September of 2007 in front of his 15 year old sister.

 

Just days earlier, Pulley had testified in a seperate shooting case.

 

He had turned down tens of thousands of dollars in bribes and agreed to help prosecutors.

 

Court documents made public Monday have witnesseses saying that the accused incriminated himself at a bar declaring at one point that he just had the dude "hit" meaning killed.

 

Pulley's murder lead to a private and public fundraising effort to bring back the witness protection program in Milwaukee County.
