Faces 18 counts of child sex crimes
MILWAUKEE -- Bail was set at $500,000 for a former Milwaukee County sheriff's captain charged with repeatedly sexually assaulting four children.
42-year-old David Salsbury made his first court appearance on Tuesday.
He resigned after being charged with 18 counts of sexual misconduct.
Those charges include repeated sexual assault of children and possession of child porn. According to the complaint, the crimes occurred over a 10-year period.
Investigators say he inappropriately touched the two girls and two boys repeatedly. They say it started when one was only 3-years-old.
According to a criminal complaint, Salsbury even made some of the children pose naked to take pictures of them.
The complaint also says the 42-year-old asked one if they could "do stuff" when he returned from his Iraq deployment.
If convicted on all counts, he could face nearly 800 years in prison.
