Putting water-filled bottle in tank could help you save $100 a year
Stop flushing money down the toilet. New toilet models use half as much water as old ones, helping you reduce your water bill. But even if you have an older model, you can still cut down your bill by filling a plastic bottle with water and putting it in the toilet tank. It'll cause your toilet to use less water, allowing you to save money.
While some people suggest you can do the same with a brick, plumbers don't recommend it because it can mess up your toilet's moving parts and actually end up costing you money in repairs.
Reduce the amount of water used by your toilet, and you could save about $100 a year on your water bill.
