both bound over for trial
MILWAUKEE-Turns out both drivers in a February 20th collision that killed a Milwaukee woman both had revoked licenses and never should have been behind the wheel.
On Monday, 27 year old Alonzo Johnson was bound over for trial on charges of intoxicated use of a vehicle. His 25 year old girlfriend died in the crash at 9Th and Center.
29 year old Charles Curtis, the other driver, will be tried on charges he left the scene.
Both are charged with driving a motor vehicle after revocation.
Curtis argued that he returned to the scene after ten minutes, and that he initially left because of an argument between Johnson and some others about the damage to the vehicle Johnson was driving.
But the court official told the defense attorney that he wouldn't dismiss the charge because Curtis did leave, however briefly, and then wasn't forthcoming when he came back.
