Golden Eagles sign prized recruit Reggie Smith
Reggie Smith, a point guard from the Chicago area, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Marquette, and CBS 58 was there for players' and coaches' reaction.
MILWAUKEE - It was the buzz of practice today at Bradley Center.
No, not Marquette's Saturday game against Grambling State. Not even the Golden Eagles' upcoming trip to Florida for the Old Spice Classic.
Thursday's big news came on the recruiting front, as Marquette received a letter of intent from prized point guard Reggie Smith of Thornton Township High School in Illinois.
Buzz Williams has plenty of reasons to boast about Smith's impending arrival. He's ranked among the top 120 players overall, and top 40 point guards, in the country among high school seniors by both rivals.com and scout.com.
Smith provides speed and the ability to win - Thornton Township sported a gaudy 29-1 record last season.
