Neighbor says man in house that caught fire was woodworker
WAUWATOSA -- Residents of the neighborhood where the tactical situation unfolded Thursday morning say it was initially shocking when police showed up at their door.
Robin Zatrow spoke with CBS 58 during the situation and said initially, police told the neighbors near 120th and Cherry to stay in their homes around 9 a.m. but eventually they expanded their presence to the surrounding 16 blocks. She recounts the Milwaukee Sheriff's Department, Wauwatosa, Brookfield, West Allis, West Milwaukee and Elm Grove police and fire departments on the scene. By 10:30 a.m. Robin says most neighbors had come out of their homes because they saw the police put down their protective shields. She says a man and a woman lived in the home that went up in flames and the man was a woodworker and was often seen in his garage. Her phone interview with CBS 58 is attached. |
