MILWAUKEE-Trinity Academy of Irish Dance has opened a new string of studios along Erie Street in Milwaukee's third ward.
The rooms are floor to ceiling glass, giving the outsider world a look at the rigors involves with perfecting Irish Step Dancing.
The string of state of the art studios is nestled between the Milwaukee River and the Summerfest Grounds which host Milwaukee Irish Fest each summer.
Patrick Boyle, Executive Director of Milwaukee Irish Fest, told the crowd gathered for the gala opening of the new studios that "Milwaukee Irish Fest is what it is because of the Trinity Irish Dancers. Congratulations on your new studios."
The Men of Trinity dazzled the crowd. The group includes Senior World Champion Tyler Schwartz and three time World Champion Peter Dziak.
September 28th, the night of the gala, was officially declared Trinity Irish Dancers Day in Milwaukee.
Some of the original dancers were in attendance and in rare form still able to "trip the sod" as they say for the CBS 58 News crew.
"We started at St Rose's Parish in Milwaukee," recalled Tess Dalton of Franklin, "Then we went to St Catherine's at 53rd and Center and we danced in the basement."
"When we started there were maybe 20 of us," added Dalton's sister Maggie O'Donoghue, "and now he's everywhere."
He is a reference to Mark Howard, who started Trinity as a student and champion dancer himself 30 years ago.
Times may change but core mission remains; a true Trinity Irish dance is as gracious in defeat as she or he is in victory.
Many of the dancers return to teach or enroll their own children.
While dancers are encouraged to take their craft as as far as they can, there's also acceptance for whatever path in life they choose.
World Champion Tyler Schwartz says he hopes to tour.
His fellow dancer and also champion Pete Dziak says he will go as far as dance takes him but hopes one day to become a pilot.
"But you'll always dance?" CBS 58's Michele McCormack asked him, "Of course," Dziak responded, "that will never change."
The value here is that whatever life may bring, you are prepared by demonstrating early in life discipline, ambition and humility.
This is not an easy combination but all come full circle at Trinity Academy of Irish Dance.
