MILWAUKEE-This is the 6th year officers decided to get together to pay for meals and presents for half a dozen families who are having a tough go of it.

Each member of the family received two presents to open.

"We realize our relationship with them is very important and this is something the officers and police department want to do and do it all on their own,"  Captain Thomas Stingler of the 5th District told CBS 58 News.

MPD says this is just one of the ways officers are trying to live up to the Department motto of being a positive force in the community.
