The focus of this edition of Eye to Eye was providing kids with nutrition and entertainment while they are away from school on summer vacation.  The Salvation Army prepares thousands of bag lunches each day and distributes them to children throughout the city who normally rely on the school lunch program.  Major Yoder talked about making connections with kids with the goal of eventually helping them out of poverty.  We also touched on the need for volunteers to prepare the lunches Monday thru Friday.
Cheryl Rodriguez also stopped by to talk about the “Kids Bowl Free” program.  It’s a national initiative that provides children with 2 free games of bowling each day during the summer.  JB’s on 41 is among the participating bowling centers.   Adults can also receive discounted bowling passes as well.  “Kids Bowl Free” is a supporter of President Obama’s Presidential Active Lifestyle Award Challenge .
