Milwaukee Lights Up for Autism Awareness

As part of Autism Speaks’ Light It Up Blue campaign, which aims to help raise awareness of autism on World Autism Awareness Day (April 2) and during Autism Awareness Month (April), various Milwaukee landmarks illuminated in blue, including:
• Miller Park
• Marquette Interchange
• Pettit National Ice Center
• Mitchell Park Horticultural Conservatory (The Domes)
• City of Milwaukee Court of Honor (located on W. Wisconsin Avenue - The Victorious Charge and the Washington Monument)
• Cudahy Hall at Marquette University

The structures participated in partnership with the Milwaukee Walk Now for Autism Speaks, which will be held on Saturday, Apr. 28 at State Fair Park, in conclusion of Autism Awareness Month. The Walk is Autism Speaks’ number one effort to generate vital funds for autism research and raise awareness about the increasing prevalence of autism, which affects 1 in 88 American children, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
